Programs alongside everyday thanks
Peer thanks happen all day. Some recognition is deliberate: a quarterly award, a “mentor of the year”, a launch week when everyone has more to give. Programs are for that, run by admins and moderators from the admin panel.
Nominations with voting
- Set the window: when nominations open and close, and when voting ends. Pointd Pal moves the program along on time.
- Choose who takes part: everyone, or chosen teams, separately for who can nominate, who can be nominated and who can vote.
- Ask what matters: up to five questions of your own next to each story.
- Shortlist fairly: the panel shows how widely nominations spread across people and teams before you pick finalists.
- Secret votes: voters see the finalists’ stories without the names of who nominated them, and nobody’s vote is shown.
- Winners: announced in the program’s channel, with a message to each winner. A program can give points to its winners, or none.
Awards
Admins and moderators can give an award from an award program, and so can team leads for their own teams when the program allows it.
- Outside the allowance: an award doesn’t use up the giver’s allowance or hold back their everyday thanks.
- A budget: each program can have one per month, quarter or year, and two people giving at once can’t overspend it.
- Points that count: awards add to the receiver’s score and balance, so they can be spent on rewards.
Boosts
Admins can schedule a boost for a week that deserves it: double the allowance, or a few extra points to give, for everyone or for chosen teams. Overlapping boosts don’t add up; the bigger one applies. While one runs, people see it next to how many points they have left.
Fair numbers
Awards are deliberate, so they’re kept apart from the thanks people give each other:
- Inclusivity health, the “not recognized lately” list and participation count peer recognition only. An award doesn’t take someone off the list of people their peers haven’t thanked.
- Leaderboards rank peer thanks, so one large award doesn’t decide the week.
- The dashboard counts awards in its totals and draws them as their own line, and shades the weeks a boost was running.
- The weekly digest lists the winners and how many awards each program gave.
Moderators
Give someone the moderator role to run programs and give awards without access to settings, billing or people’s private recognitions.
Programs are part of the Pro plan.
