Rewards catalog

Admins set up the rewards your company offers. People redeem their points in chat, and admins approve each one.

Pro plan

Your rewards, not a gift-card marketplace

The rewards that mean something at your company are rarely in a vendor catalog: a late start on Friday, a team lunch, a donation to a charity someone picks, the good hoodie. Pointd Pal lets admins define exactly those:

  • a name, a description and a point cost for each reward
  • an optional stock, for things you only have so many of
  • rewards can be switched off without deleting them

How redeeming works

  1. A person picks a reward in Pointd Pal’s home view (the App Home tab in Slack). Their balance and the stock are checked first.
  2. Admins get a direct message with Approve and Reject buttons. The admin panel also keeps a queue of every request.
  3. Once the reward is handed over, an admin marks it fulfilled in the admin panel.
  4. The person gets a message at each step.

Every decision is recorded in the audit log.

Spending doesn’t cost anyone their rank

Spendable balance and score are separate. Redeeming a reward takes points out of the balance but never lowers someone’s score or their place on a leaderboard. A rejected request gives the points back.

There’s no money handling in Pointd Pal. Admins fulfil rewards themselves, the same way they would today.

The rewards catalog is part of the Pro plan.
